SIXTY ONE

Mary felt panic wash over her as she read the content written in bold in on the paper that she almost dropped it. But she tried to control her reaction in order not to scare the young lad in front of her.

“What is it aunt?” He asked tapping her knee gently. “Is it something bad?”

“Ehhmm…. Not really Aiden” she tried to remain calm. “It’s just something meaningless that you should not be bothered about”.

“But it looks like something bad, from your reaction”.

“Let’s just go inside okay?”

Back in her room, Mary paced around holding the paper and reading it over and over again. She was petrified to the marrow. “Stop what you are doing at once or you face the consequences”.
