Lilith's POV
It took several hours to prepare for the party. The size of Su's house did not help. Before it was time for the party, people had begun piling in the front door. Because I didn't know most of these people, none of them greeted me as they did with Su and Connor. Several people made their way outback after their greetings and sat around the pool. Talia made sure to arrive fashionably late.
Instructed by Connor, Opal and I hid in the kitchen area with Simon guarding us. The excitement of having Simon near wasn't enough, I desperately needed both of them by my side. My red-headed mate let a joke slip here and there but mainly stayed lost in thought. Something bothered him and guilt riddled me for not knowing what was wrong.
