I sat in the hospitals' waiting room, staring at the wall- the world and everything else completely forgotten. I knew not the day, or the time, or how long I've been here- sitting, waiting for news; any news. I couldn't say anything. I didn't need to. It was hard to get myself to do anything but sit here, thinking- pondering.

How could life be so cruel? Why did bad things happen to the good people, and vice versa? I'd asked myself that question so many times, it felt like a pledge- my anthem.

I've aged more for the past week than I've done in years
