Marissa POV.

Uncertainty gnaws away at my insides as I make my way to the laboratory. I really hope Cody has found something, but my gut is telling me something isn’t right. Pushing the door open, my eyes widen. Not only is Cody here, but so is Lucy. A smirk forms on my face, oh how I would love to tease them right now, but the looks on their faces makes me stop. They both look extremely serious right now.

“Ok guys, what’s happened?” I ask as I walk close to Cody and Lucy.

“I’m sorry Dr Ramsey, I took a nap last night and when I woke up to check the results, I saw that the samples you brought had been contaminated.” My eyebrow furrow. The samples became contaminated? But how? This is seriously becoming a joke. Whoever is behind this is definitely covering their tracks well.

Sighing, I pinch the bridge of my nose as I pace back and forth, my heart beating wildly. Why is this happening to me?
