Waking up in a cold sweat, I looked around the dimly lit room. Seeing no one around, I breathed a sigh of relief. Looking to my right, I see water and some fruit on the nightstand. Being hungry and thirsty, I take the food and water and slowly eat. I take my time, wanting to be alone. I heard voices coming from outside, so I got up off the bed and walked to the balcony. The door was cracked, so I slowly opened it, stepping out into the warm afternoon sun. I looked down to see Ted and Cody sitting by the pool, having a good time. Seeing them outside, I thought about running, but I remembered all the men he called a few days ago to watch everything.

“Lucky you.” I rolled my eyes.

Walking back inside and to the closet, I got a light summer dress and put that on. I took my hair out of my braid and ran my fingers through the waves that were left. I looked in the mirror, biting my lip as a tear came to my eye.
