SIXTY FOUR

Alexa’s POV

I had woken up to the sound of an alarm ringing softly, and though the tune was calm and quiet it irritated me more than I could ever express. I begrudgingly pried my eyes open in time to see Calan sleepily reach out and tap on his phone which was on the night stand to turn of the alarm, he let out a heavy breath and for a moment he just lay on his back staring up at the ceilings, and I stared at him, watched him quietly, and I realized that staring at him quelled my irritation.

“Good morning”. I greeted quietly.

His gaze flickered from the ceiling to mine and the sides of his lips pulled up in a faint smile.

“Good morning. Did you sleep well?”. He asked me and I nodded.

I had slept well, I may have been worried about him but I had slept well because I had been in his arms, because the soothing fragrance of sandalwood had been with me all through the night.

“Are you feeling better?”. I asked him.
