Alexander's POV
"What do you mean it's your money? Remember, I'm the one who put you in the position you're in now!"
My father yelled, his face red with rage. We had been arguing for almost two hours, and I could see the vein in his forehead bulging. Victoria must have told him everything about Mia, and he looked like he was about to have a heart attack.
"You'll bring that girl to me, and I'll take care of her," he demanded, his eyes blazing with fury.
I narrowed my eyes at him, clenching my fists. "I won't," I said defiantly. "Mia is my responsibility. I bought her with my money, and I'll take care of her."
My father's face turned purple with rage. "How dare you speak to me like that! I'm still your father! I put you in your position!" He gripped his walking stick tightly, his knuckles white with anger.
I smirked, trying to control my own anger. "Yes, you did, but I earned it. And I'm not letting you get your hands on Mia. She belongs to me."
My father's eyes flashed with anger. "Alexander, if you defy my rules..."
But I cut him off, standing up to face him. "Father, I bought Mia. She's my responsibility. I don't care what you think or what Victoria told you. All I know is that Mia belongs to me, and I'm not letting her go."
With that, I turned and walked out of his office, leaving him spluttering behind me. I could hear him calling my name, but I refused to look back. I wasn't heartless, not every time, not to everyone, only people who don't deserve my heart, people like my old man.
Now, it was time to focus on Mia. I had to make sure she was safe from my father's wrath. I drove my car back to the mansion and got out immediately, before the car even came to a halt.
"Mia! Mia!!" I yelled, rushing into the house and up to Mia's room. "Mia...!" I knocked on her door, but got no answer from the other side. I barged the door open using my shoulder and burst into the room.
She's not here. I looked around the room, but there was no sign of her.
Could she possibly... Fear gripped me, and I opened the door to her closet. All her clothes were still there.
She couldn't possibly leave with her things, right? Why the hell is she...
"Mia..." I called, walking into Lilly's room. There was no sign of her there, not like there should be. My heart beat increased as I ran down the stairs, yelling Mia's name. I searched everywhere, finally resting in the garden.
"Boss..."
Alice, the maid who was always around Mia, called me when I came to the garden.
Thinking of it, Mia was always with this girl; she could have an idea where she might be. "I want to tell you..."
"Where's Mia?" I asked immediately, interrupting her.
"That's what I've been trying to tell you... " She dropped the tools in her hand and stared at me, her hands on her hips like an overprotective mother. "I've been looking for Mia since this morning, and I can't find her anywhere in the house. I wanted to ask if you did something to her yesterday that might upset her."
I stared at Alice in surprise. Did she just speak to me in that manner?
This was the first time a maid had raised her voice at me. Mia didn't count; she was always special.
"What's your name?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at her.
It was then her consciousness came back to her, and she cowered her head while fidgeting. "I'm sorry, sir... I didn't mean to raise my voice. I was just worried about Mia."
I snorted. Of course, that would be the excuse she would give.
"I asked what's your name."
"A... Alice, sir," she replied.
Alice... I nodded my head, that is a name I would remember.
"Mr. Hamilton, please, you have to understand. Ever since Mia came into this house, I've been beside her. I've also grown to love her company, and she became my best friend." She began calmly. Taking a deep breath, she continued.
"Yesterday, I saw the sparks between you two, and I thought that something must have happened between the both of you. But today, Mia's missing, and I have no idea where she might be."
Missing? I ran my hand through my hair in realization. I had not thought of it in that manner. My eyes widened in anger. If Mia was truly missing, there was only one person who I knew had any motive to take her captive.
" Where's Victoria?" I thundered, my chest heaving with anger. Alice's eyes widened in surprise and shock at my tone.
"Ms. Victoria... she, I haven't seen her all day. But some of the other staff said they saw her leave the house very early in the morning," Alice replied, her voice trembling.
Victoria... I swear if you're behind this...
"I'll deal with you later." I took a last look at Alice and rushed out of the garden, my mind racing with thoughts of Mia's disappearance.
I jumped into my car and demanded the keys from my driver. I could see the hesitation in his eyes, but I wasn't in the mood to be driven. I took the keys and drove the car out of the estate, breaking several traffic rules along the way. I didn't care; I just wanted to get to the bottom of Mia's disappearance.
I arrived at the office in record time and stormed out of the elevator, my anger and frustration boiling over. I burst into my father's office, slamming the door behind me.
He was sitting on the couch, sipping tea, looking calm and collected.
"Where's Mia?" I demanded, my voice menacing.
He looked up at me, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "You left here almost an hour ago, and now you come back, your clothes disheveled, and you're shouting at me?"
I glared at him, my fury intensifying.
"What are you playing at, old man? Where's Mia? You threatened me with her just minutes ago, and now she's missing... Where is she?"
He took a sip of his tea, his eyes never leaving mine. "Are you talking about the girl you bought with a million dollars and claim to have no care for her?"
" Father... "
" I've never seen you so... So angry and disarranged. Guess that lowlife holds more place in your heart than you want to admit". He said with a smirk calmly taking a sip from his tea enjoying seeing me like this.
" She must be really special".
I combed my hair with my hands in frustration, around the room trying to contain my anger.
This man was playing games with me!
Alexander's POV"Father, I'm not in the mood for this. Tell me where Mia is right now!" I thundered, glaring at him. Can't he see how mad I am?"So, you do care for her?" He shook his head, looking at me in disappointment - a look I'm so used to seeing on his face whenever we speak."Just so you know, I don't know where this Mia girl is, and even if I did, I wouldn't tell you." I smirked, shaking my head at his calmness."Father..." Or could it be that Victoria did this on her own?"Next time, before you come here all fired up to make accusations, make sure you know for sure who you're accusing and have evidence. I thought I taught you better, but you disappoint me every time. Maybe your half-brother would do better."My lips hooked up in a sinister smirk. "You say that every time, yet you've never brought that brother of mine back into the family, have you?" I said, provoking him.He gave me one of his calm smiles that had been on his face since I stepped into the office. "The way yo
Mia's POVMy heart raced as I shivered in fright. I was standing backstage, blindfolded, hands tied behind my back, and naked. Not the type of naked like you're wearing an open swimsuit and feeling insecure, but freaking butt naked."We've saved the best for last. Here's Mia, a twenty-four-year-old ready to fulfill all your needs."He just called my name! I thought it was a mistake - if he was who I thought he was, how would he know my name and age? I questioned myself, my heart still beating in terror of what's about to happen. Two men came forward and dragged me onto the stage. The first one untied my hands before following the other one to drag me.No, I don't want to go. I struggled to set myself free from their iron grip, but my efforts were completely useless because I was thrown onto the stage like a ragdoll."We don't need to mishandle our product." I heard the guy with the microphone warn the two guys who threw me on the stage.Product! That darn bastard called me a product! I
Mia's POV"I'll buy her for a million dollars." For the first few seconds, I thought it was an angel speaking before I realized it was the handsome man from earlier who was looking at me.The normal me, you know the me before knowing that my tongue was about to be cut off, would sneer at the price, but my tongue was on the line, so I kept quiet. Can't argue with my savior. Plus the price was mouth watering. "Are you sure about this, Mr. Hamilton? As you have seen, this lady can be quite brazen." The MC said, addressing the man with respect.I could bet that all the darn auctioneer wanted was for me to suffer, but maybe the price would be worth more than that."Are you questioning my decisions, Williams?" The handsome man raised a brow as he threatened. He was terrifying, even more than Williams, the MC, and auctioneer. Was I making the right decision choosing to be bought by him? But I literally had no other choice. It's either this or my tongue gets cut off, and the way I see these p
I followed, more like allowed myself to be dragged by Mr. Hamilton, down to where he parked his car. Which was quite far from where he caught me.So the man ran all the way there just to catch me? I found it amusing. He left his expensive car, which I could bet cost way more than a million dollars, to catch me, who only cost one million? What if his car got stolen or worse, wrecked? Didn't he think about it before chasing me? But then again, rich people have no worries. They're rich."Where are you taking me to?" I asked once inside his car."To my house." He answ curtly, getting onto the driver's seat.I was surprised when I saw Mr. Hamilton open the door to the driver's seat and hop in.I thought rich men always had drivers or chauffeurs to drive them about. Why was he doing it himself? Could it be that Mr. Hamilton was not as rich as he portrayed himself to be? I glanced at the man on the driver's seat, carefully scrutinizing his every expression. Or could it be that he just loved t
"Be my daughter's maid." I blinked, trying to decipher his words. Was it code for something?"I don't get it." I shook my head, confusion etched on my face.Alexander crossed his legs, his gaze piercing mine. "What don't you get?" he asked, his tone firm but curious.I took a deep breath, my nerves tensed. His stare was unsettling, making my heart race. I clutched the blanket, my eyes darting to my clothes. I was no longer wearing Alexander's suit jacket but a silk extremely comfortable nightgown. My eyes widened as I looked to look at Alexander. "Did you..." I trailed off, my voice barely audible.Alexander's lips curled into a mocking smile. "What if I did?"I could feel the heat rising up to my face. I didn't could be embarrassment, or anger or both, but all I knew was that I was wronged. Alexander had seen me naked few hours ago, but that still didn't give him right to undress me.My temper flared and I lost control of my mouth. "You perverted..." " It wasn't me". We said at t
Lilly left few minutes after she threatened me and gave me a scare. As much as I hated to admit it, that girl was as scary as hellHow can someone be so cute, yet so vicious at the same goddamn timeI got up immediately, to look around. The place was beautiful, and huge. I had never even visited a place like this in my dreams not to talk of in real lifeI had less than two hours to get ready for the day. But for a person who was used to getting ready in under ten minutes, two hours felt like a whole lot of timeI got down from the bed, taking in the beauty of the room. Everything was so gorgeous and screaming expensive. I saw a white door by the corner of the room, and with me being me, I went there and opened iI gasped in amazement at what I saw. It was a fully furnished walk in closet. Everything was there, rating from the shoes to bags to the clothes... Even the underwear, everything was therAnd what surprised me the most was that, they were all my sizHow did Alexander know my s
After the 'act' with Lilly in her room, the girl listed a lot of ground rules. Some of which I was not able to catch because I was still shocked by the fact that the girl was a good actress. By the time she was done, we had taken over three hours and I was only able to scam three rules. ' Don't mess with my hair: You're not allowed to touch it no matter what Always be at my Beck and call: If I call you and you don't answer, we have a problem. And last one which I found very absurd,Don't fall for me dad! 'The first rule, was understandable. The girl had golden beautiful locks that I feared I would ruin if I touched it, but it would feel good to run my hand in it, but I was going to keep that one. The second rule, that was a typical spoilt brat move. Me, Mia have to always be at a little girl's beck and call. I felt my pride and self dignity disappear when she said that. I had to bit my lips to prevent myself from saying something that would make her tell her dad something terrib
Mia's POVHow dare they? What did they think I am to them? Huh, their fucking property?I am a freaking adult! They had no right to sell me like a used object in an auction house. My family I thought was just poor, but we had our dignity, yet they just sold me out?I knew they had always loved my older sister more than me. She was the obedient one, and the nice one and also the most pretty. She was the breadwinner of the family while I was just their second child. "Dargh!!" I screamed loudly. Using my hands to cover my ears. " Is that my phone?" Alice asked pointing at the broken phone that I threw on the floor. "Er...I want to be alone right now". I murmured rather angrily as I took my frustration elsewhere. "Mia, you're buying me a new phone!" I heard Alice yell after me and I snorted. Where the hell was I going to get money for a new phone? I let my legs lead me back into the house and inside Lilly's room. Why did it lead me here? Probably because it was the only place in t
