Chapter 34

SARAH

THE NEXT DAY

My eyes slowly fluttered open to the little ray of sunlight which filtered in through the satin curtains of the hospital ward.

A tired yawn left my lips as I tried recollecting the past events. Once again, upon being met with the sight of the blinding white ward which carried the scent of drugs, I wondered what I was doing in a hospital.

But like bolts of lightening, everything that had transpired in the last few days came rushing down at me.

I tried to escape from Emilio after discovering both our lives were in danger and I failed woefully and to top it off, I hit my head so bad on a tree and now I just slip in and out of consciousness.

I sighed, my blurry vision adjusting as I tried to sit up straight but I found out my fingers were being held down by something and it wasn't the intravenous injections that were plastered on my hand.

I craned my neck to the side and there it was; tattooed hands adorned by various rings on full display held on to my fingers.
