HOURS LATER

When Emilio actually suggested out of the blue that we go out for dinner, I actually thought he was bluffing and I stood in expectation of his tongue lashing but to my greatest surprise, he didn't yell at me.

Instead he just left like nothing happened. I half expected him to come back later in the evening but he did with a new velvety red gown and a pair of comfortable flat shoes.

Initially I doubted us going out as a result of my ankle but Emilio withered away my doubts when he told me had spoken to the doctor already and gotten a permit from him to take me out for dinner.

But even right now, as I sat next to Emilio in the car, I still felt alot jittery and frightened. His calmness was alarming and I kept on expecting him to slap or yell at me any moment but he chose to stay quiet.

This is so unlike Emilio. I gulped and fiddled with my gown. There was always a sign before a storm. That I know for sure.
