Chapter Thirty Eight

"Good morning." Beth's sleepy voice greeted me from the bed. "Did you sleep well?".

"What do you think?" I snapped. It wasn't her fault that I was uncomfortable on the sofa because she'd asked me to stay on the bed with her last night but my stupid pride hadn't let me take her on the offer. It still didn't stop me from taking it out on her though.

She sat up in bed and hugged her knees. "I do remember telling you that we can share the same bed Leon. I don't appreciate your tone of voice. It's Sunday." She said.

"Whatever." I mumbled.

"Are you going to church today?" She asked.

"What?" I frowned.

"Church? A building where people gather to worship God?" She arched a brow.

"I know what it is. Why are you asking?"

"Because it's Sunday and I want to go to church." She replied in a duh tone. "We have to go to church."

"You're free to go. Sleep there if you want to as well. I don't care." I stood up from the sofa, stretched until I felt my muscles crack and I sighed. "Church." I scoffed
