POV: LENNY RUSSO

I knew at that moment I had made a terrible mistake. Jannisa cursed Jamal and then slapped him right before she shuffled off the bed carrying the sheets along with her.

I ran after her. The guard would get her in trouble so big I wouldn't be able to do anything for her if she passed him the way she was.

I caught up to her and grabbed her by the arm. I was fast enough to dodge the fist she threw at me. She was crying hysterically. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. This was bad.

"Calm down," I said to her. "You can't go out there like this."

"Come with me." I urged her.

She must have seen the sense in what I said because she nodded and then followed me back to my quarters. It was dangerous but I was able to get her back there without running into anyone.

Suhkri ran to the door as we walked in but stopped short when she saw I wasn't alone.

"Get her something to put on," I said to her. "Please keep her here till I return."

I turned to Jannisa with a weak smile. "I won't be long. Need to
