Chapter 1 - That Kiss Was Something

Lianne drank from the wine glass she was holding while watching the man from a distance. Shit! She was itching to get close to the man and slap him hard.

"Hey, girl! Why are you drinking?" Her cousin Sheena asked her annoyingly.

She shook her head and continued to gaze at the man who was sitting on the other couch with his teammates. They were happily drinking together with the girls except for him, who was alone. The man was drinking alone, laughing, and clutching a bottle of beer.

"What's the deal with you and Zyd Caiden McCluskey? You kept gazing at him, and we all know how attractive and hot he is. That's obvious to me. Furthermore, he is the hockey team's captain, but he is dating someone else and their engagement was widely publicized on social media."

Duh! I am aware of that.

She no longer drinks wine from the glass but from the bottle. Sheena placed her palm on her mouth while staring at her. She wasn't a drinker after all. She tried it before, just three times, and this is the last one. She needs courage— a little courage. She wasn't doing it to get wasted.

Promise!

She jumped quickly off the stool. She didn't mind how the bartender looked at her. She might kick it in the face!

She walked straight while wearing six-inch high heels. She might make noises with every step she takes if it weren't for the music. The world is indeed small. She had no idea she'd run into the man who had made her cry for two months—yes, two months!

Argh!

Thanks to her aunt, who was here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her aunt brought her here last month because she knew that she was looking for a good opportunity. Because Sheena enjoys nightlife, she brought her and toured her while she waited for a call from the company she was applying for. Her aunt married a foreigner. Her cousin half Filipino.

"My god, Lianne!" Her cousin stopped her, but she just signaled her to be quiet. She simply nominated, terrified of what she was capable of.

She was wearing a sexy red bar dress that almost exposed her whole back and the curves of her body. Her small waist was emphasized because of it, and it gave her more charm. She draws attention from everyone she passes because of the color of her shoes. Actually, she didn't like what she was wearing, but at that moment, she wanted to thank Sheena for making her wear it.

She stopped in front of Zyd's team. They put down their drinks and looked at her. Yes, she was aware that she had astounded them. Her black curly hair that extended down to her waist and her smokey makeup, plus the outfit, made no one resist looking at her. Her stunning beauty screams catastrophe! Her height is barely 5'4" , but she understands that her high-heeled shoes have given her the confidence she wants.

"Well, hey, pretty lady. Are you lost?" One of his men hurriedly jumped up to assist her.

But her gaze stayed set on Zyd, who is now staring at her in amazement. "Well, I'm not lost. Lemme say, I'm kind of mad right now."

Zyd then paused his drink and waited to hear what she had to say. She didn't move, she just stood there, still staring at Zyd. The next thing she did made the whole team shout, and the people who saw them gasped.

This shameless man!

She just pulled the man's shirt off and kissed Zyd on the lips when she went near him. After that, she slapped him hard. The impact of her slap made his face turn red! The crowd became quiet. The alcohol really hit her hard, huh!

It roared, "The fuck!" and then turned to face her.

"That's for fooling me, Zyd Caiden McCluskey." She slapped it across the cheek once more. Much more powerful and painful. No one dared to meddle. Just waiting to see what she will do next. "And that's for playing my heart, jerk!"

"Hey, I think—" One man protested.

"Shut up!" Her voice was full of finality, and she faced the man again. "I trust you, but all you did was give me pain!" she shouted . The alcohol really hit her hard, it was so much that she couldn't even remember her name. "And here's my phone. I screenshotted all our conversations to let you know. Fuck you!" She immediately turned her back and left him , who couldn't process what just happened.

Sheena quickly followed her, with all eyes on her at the Elite's Bar. Even the music stopped because of what she did. She walks out of the bar, never regretting her actions.

"Lianne, wait!" Sheena caught her outside then dragged her to the parking lot, where she looked like she was having a big problem. "What was that, Lianne Elhouette Vergara?! My god! Now, we're dead." Sheena drove the car fast when she was already inside.

She smirked at that thick-faced man! She was fuming mad while staring at his face earlier, which seemed like it knew nothing. Huh! If he was only standing, she probably kicked his balls because of her anger.

"Do you remember the man I was talking about that I was chatting with and having video calls with from abroad? The man I adored despite the fact that we met on a social dating app? The man who can be compared to sugar because he has so much sweetness that I can taste it? That was the fucking man from the bar!" She rolled her eyes and then looked out the window.

"Woah, wait!" Sheena suddenly stepped on the break in the middle of the road. She's lucky she's wearing her seat belt. If not, her face is probably now on the dashboard.

"Hey, are you planning to kill me?" she asked Sheena.

It looked at her with amusement. It's a good thing that no one was following them. . . otherwise, they might have been involved in an accident.

"You mean, it's him? The heck, Lianne! Your reason is too low. I thought it could be something more. That's normal here, you fool! Why did you believe it in the first place? And one more thing—is that really him? Is he really Captain Zyd Caiden McCluskey? And if it is really him, you don't have any reason to slap him. My god! It's your fault that you became a fool over some posers during that time." Sheena slapped her forehead and could not believe what she had done. "We are dead, woman!"

She sighed and shrugged her shoulders. She had no regrets about what she had done. She loved the man even though they had just met on social media. Is there something wrong with that? The heart doesn't choose who it will love, and she was annoyed that she let herself fall for his sweet words. She will be grateful to her aunt for bringing her to Pennsylvania.

"I don't care! As long as I slapped that asshole and..." Her face suddenly turned red when she remembered that she kissed the man for three seconds.

That kiss was something...
