Jay's POV:

I was biting my nails, moving back and forth like a crazy maniac.

My shirt was slightly bloody, and I couldn't stay calm no matter what.

When Martinez walked out of the ICU, I rushed to his side.

"Tell me now," I demanded.

He rolled his eyes, then put his hand on my chest, pushing me back a little.

"Brother, for a doctor, you act way too scary," he said as I angrily grabbed his coat.

"Tell me, damn it," I yelled at the top of my voice.

"I'm sorry," he whispered sadly, and tears instantly blinded my eyes.

"I'm not a failure as a surgeon. That's why my private hospital is one of the best hospitals in the world. By now, you should know that," he said as I looked at him in shock and disbelief.

"Does that mean... Does that?" I asked in a cracked voice.

"Yes, both the mother and the child are alive. You did well to rush them here on time. If you had let them be like that for hours, they both would have been dead by now," he answered as I fell weakly to my knees, sobbin
