Chapter Thirty Eight

Rohan looked up just as the doctor walked into the waiting area searching for someone and he jumped to his feet and walked over to meet the doctor.

"How's she?" He demanded.

"Are you a family member of the injured patient?"

"Um... I'm the father of the baby." He lied through his teeth. He knew the doctor would advice him to look for her family members if there was any emergency and papers were needed to be signed by them. He couldn't risk her life like that.

"Babies, you mean. She's having twins." The doctor informed him. "We need you to sign some papers so we can perform a caesarean section on her to get the babies out. They're in danger."

"Of course." He nodded.

"Come with me, sir."

He followed the doctor, signed whatever was needed to be signed and the doctor left him again assuring him that his babies would be fine and he returned to the waiting area. He'd not meant to tell that lie but he wasn't sure he would ever regret it knowing that he'd done something good to save the
