The Battle Line

Lucius's POV

My heart squeezed painfully in my chest and I clutched the phone tighter.

"What's going on?"

I could pick his sharp breathing through the phone and the longer he took to respond the more worried I became. It was obvious that whatever had happened was very serious.

My wolf growled within me, wondering what was going on.

"Lucius, Redskin caught fire last night. Everything is burnt to the ground. We couldn't save a pin."

"What?" I dropped Owen to the ground and moved to the window as I suddenly felt choked and unable to breathe.

"How did this happen?" My voice was starting to shake as my shock and anger blended within me.

"I don't know man. All our focus was on finding Diane and the next thing we knew there was news about the building. When I got there, it was all gone!"

"What did Bucks say? Weren't any of them there?"

"They were all surprised as well. Nobody knows what happened."
