Chapter 54

I walked back to my room in deep thoughts.

Too much had been said in the last hour and it was mind boggling.

I ran my fingers through my hair and sighed softly.

I walked to the bed and laid down, trying to get some sleep.

It was still morning and I had woken up not long ago but there was really nothing else to do around here.

None of the maids let me do anything and being this idle was messing with my mind.

After a few minutes of tossing and turning hopelessly on the bed, I sat up with a groan.

I looked around and my eyes landed on the book I had been trying to read last night.

I picked it up and opened to the page with the bookmark.

I was stuck on one page for twenty minutes, reading and rereading one line but nothing could stick or make any sense to me.

“Ughhh,” I groaned, feeling the urge to pull out my hair from my head.

Closing the romance book that was doing nothing but cause me a migraine, I dropped it on the table, a bit harder than I usually would.
