Chapter 15: The Girlfriend

This week has been off. Ever since the party ended, Kairo has not been paying attention to me that much. He’s a cold person, to begin with, but he always made sure that he had time to spare to spend with me. Even then, he would fast-track meetings just so he could hold me while watching a movie. Now, he can’t even hold me as I sleep! Every day, I feel like I’m losing the position that I’ve worked hard to acquire. Is it because we aren’t mates?
I sighed and walked down the living room when I heard Kairo’s reprimanding voice. I got curious about the scene, so I listened in on their conversation. “Didn’t you hear my warning during the Williams’ trial?” He asked the group of friends that I was acquaintances with. “I told you that I take these circumstances very seriously. As your Alpha, I want what is best for the pack, and this is not the kind of behavior that is optimum for our growth and development. You got that?”<

Emery I went back to my room to prepare for Kairo and I’s trip. Was this a date? I thought to myself. I felt giddy and excited that I was finally having some alone time with my mate. I went to my closet and tried to find the most decent clothes that I had. I only ever have plain t-shirts and jeans but hidden in the very back of my closet were my mom’s clothes. I only wore them during special occasions, but I feel like this event is special enough for me to wear them. It was made from a light material, and it went up down to my knees. I grabbed it out of the box and placed it in front of my body in the mirror.
