The next day passed with little excitement. Alessa worked from the mansion, and doing her daily tasks kept her busy. She heard rumors—mainly from Madison—that Kyle had cut his trip earlier and was heading back to the Danny mansion, but she decided not to care about it. If she was going to try and date James, she was going to have to get Kyle out of her mind. No matter what capacity he was showing up. Naked, in bed. Or growling at her in anger.

As dinner time approached, James sent a barrage of texts.
