Chapter 28

On Wednesday, Alessa packed her clothes for a few days and decided to use the week of Madison’s absences to spend at the penthouses. Kyle, who was busier than she expected, left early and came back late, but Alessa made sure to wake up, so they could spend as much time together as possible.

She even tried to surprise him for lunch the next day but she found out Kyle had in fact rescheduled his dinner with Aspen to lunch then. She decided to quietly bow out of Camelot, but that night she didn’t wake up to talk to him.

On Friday, Kyle declared he was taking a day off.

“You shouldn’t work either.”

“I can not not work. I’ve never taken a day off. Not really.” Alessa said, opening up her laptop in her bed. “Plus Madison is out.”

“Hold on, let me call Madison and tell her I need you. John and her have been on vacation for the past few days. They can work today.”

“What are you going to tell her? Alessa and I are shacking up together and will not be working today?” Alessa laughed.

“Maybe.
