Chapter 31

Alessa had no idea where to go or what to do. She ran around the airport for half an hour looking for a person called Carl. Then, as she ran to yet another air hostess to ask for Carl, she saw Kyle in the distance. She thought distress was playing with her eyes, but the Kyle look-alike kept walking toward her.

“Kyle?” she called out.

“You are at the wrong side of the airport. Come with me.”

Alessa followed behind Kyle as they walked up a set of escalators, then down another set. Then along a long corridor until they ended outside on the tarmac where a long plane buzzed.

“Oh my god!” she yelled in excitement. “This is so cool.”

“Wait to look at the inside!” Kyle advised. A man, who Alessa assumed was Carl, waited at the gate.

Alessa and Kyle climbed up the stairs into a world of beige. All the large seats and couches were the color of beige. There were only a few seats on each side, compared to the inch-to-inch seats on a commercial flight. Kyle guided her to a seat. Where an air host
