For the worst

VANESSA'S POV

Rays of sunlight peeked through the curtain, flashing directly on my face as my eyes involuntarily fluttered open. It took a few seconds for my eyes to adjust to the morning light as I rubbed gently on my eyes, trying to clear my vision while I carefully stretched my sore limbs.

Almost as soon as I could make out most of the room, my eyes drifted to the clock on the dressing table and I almost jumped out of the bed when I realized it was almost 10am. It felt odd that I had been allowed to sleep in till this time but with how yesterday went for me, I felt Samira had intentionally given me more resting time.

Thinking about Samira, I surveyed the bed in search of my phone and was surprised when I saw it on the dressing table, next to the alarm clock. I wasn't sure how it had gotten there because I was certain I had left it next to my pillow before drifting into a tired sleep. How had it then gotten to the table?
