Chp 16 Pt. 3 The White Witch
Haley
I am so happy for Mason. He deserves to be happy and I think Akila does as well. She is the last known white witch and she just lost her mother. I wonder how everyone will react to having a witch in the pack. Not many know that is such a thing as good witch, though I didn’t know that at first they were good before going bad.
Nick and Ray assure Avery is no longer in our room so I head back up there to wait until it is time for the ceremony to begin. When I reach our room I find a single red rose on my pillow. I smile and pick it up to smell it.
“You smelling or eating the rose,” teases Ray.
“When you find your mate you will understand,” I reply sticking my tongue out at them.
I am glad we all completed our GED so now they can focus on finding their mates as soon as they turn eighteen. Nick will be eight

Haley The next day one of the first things we do is exhume Akila’s mother and burn her remains. Akila says some incantations while her body burns and appears to be praying. We all watch, fascinated by this ritual. Mason takes Akila by the hand once it appears she is done praying and she allows him to embrace her. I can see Mason is whispering to her and I am sure he is telling her in more detail the day her mother died. A stray tear falls and she quickly wipes it away.
