26. Family Again
Elisa couldn't believe what she was seeing. She thought she was safe from this monster named Gerald, but he was smiling ear to ear. Happy to finally corner her like a prey animal.
She was terrified. It was hard for her to send him to prison in the beginning because he had friends who protected him. They went against her words and told the judge he had never abused her. Even some of her friends took his side despite seeing bruises on her body.
Then it finally happened. When she was pregnant with Audre, he went too far and nearly killed her. She was lucky that she didn't have a miscarriage. She was finally able to send him to prison for endangering both her and her baby's life.
