25. It's Complicated
Elisa was shaking uncontrollably. Gerald knew Ansel, and he knew where she worked. He wouldn't leave her alone no matter what.
She looked at Ansel, who said something to her but she couldn't understand him as she saw red.
"Elisa!" Ansel grabbed her shoulders and shook her until she came to her senses. "What's wrong with you? Talk to me!"
Elisa finally snapped out of it. She looked at his face, but he didn't look angry anymore. He was concerned. "You should leave," she said timidly.
Ansel held her hands and stared at her intently. "Leave? I am not going anywhere until I hear some explanation. Why are you so scared? Who is that man?"
Elisa yanked her hand free. Why is he acting like they were friends? Ansel wasn't a psychopath like Gerald, but he was no saint. He used her and tried to throw her away too. She wasn't obligated to explain herself to him.
