Chapter 27

Katie's POV

As we approached the estate, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. We were finally safe, at least for the moment.

But as we stepped out of the car and made our way inside, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Something wasn't right. The house was too quiet, too still.

"Hello?" I called out, but there was no response.

We cautiously made our way through the house, searching for any signs of danger. But everything seemed to be in order.

And then, as we were about to relax, we heard a noise from upstairs. We raced up the stairs, our hearts pounding in our chests.

And there, in our daughter's room, we found her, safe and sound. But there was something else in the room too, something that made my blood run cold.

It was a note, written in a language that I didn't recognize. And on the note, there was a symbol, one that I had seen before.

"It's the symbol of the Black Hand," Alex said, his voice barely above a whisper.

The Black Hand. The organization tha
