Chapter sixty one

Mia's pov

I felt calm, relaxed, like nothing in the world could hurt me. Could anything hurt me with my mate by my side? I don't think so.

Trevor had to be the best person to ever walk into my life. From since we were kids, he's always been my rock and that hasn't changed.

All that anxiety I was feeling washed away as the water flowed around us and the flame burnt brighter and stronger.

"Thank you" I whispered yet again, I didn't know how to express what I was feeling. I just knew I was too lucky to not thank him.

"I've got you always" he said, kissing my cheek and I swooned, my heart doing back flips.

I watched as the flame burnt out and we made our way out of the river. He gave me his shirt and told me to take off my soaked clothes and I did just that, without question.

In this moment in time, he could tell me to jump off a cliff and I wouldn't ask questions.

We made our way back to the pack house, with me on Drew's back as the exhausting of the day wore heavily on me.
