Chapter sixty two

Mia's pov

I couldn't breathe. The entire run to the border felt like I had held my breath, my mind chanting over and over again, "we're not ready, I'm not ready"

"The barrier isn't working, they just keep coming but they're not attacking" Dad, who'd been on patrol said into the link just as we arrived.

I felt my heart stop as I saw the monstrosities that stood about fifty feet outside the border growling menacingly but kept their distance.

"How are they this big?" aunt Kenya asked as she took a few steps forward but Alpha Blake grabbed her hand.

"Look at their eyes, they seem crazed" he said, making sure his mate wouldn't approach the obviously modified wolves.

"Or under a spell" I finally found my voice and spoke up. "But why are they just standing there?" dad asked, even though no one could answer.

"And where are they coming from?" Trevor asked with a growl as they seemed to just appear out of nowhere, this was definitely magic.
