Chapter 33: Down by the lake

After Rosie and everyone went to sleep. I crawled out of the tent and made my way out to the lake.
"Where the hell is this lake Atticus? I feel like I've walking for a while now and my tits are freezing!" I wrap one arm around my chest as I hold on to my phone.
"I can hear your teeth chattering," Atticus chuckles, "I see you," he singsongs.
"Wha-Where?" I spin around looking for him but I can't see anything.
Suddenly I'm grabbed from behind, "AH!" I scream as I'm lifted off the ground. I grab the person's hair and yank it hard.
"OUCH!" Atticus shouts, I let go after hearing his voice. He puts me down, "Atticus are you nuts!? Don't you know not to grab a woman from behind?! Especially in the woods?"
Atticus rubs his head, "I thought you knew it was me! I told you I saw you."
I rest my hand on my rabid beating heart, he was lucky I wasn't carrying anything on me, "For future reference, know that I am most likely packing.

“Wha-” I halt, not sure if Harvey was there to harm her or help her. Rosie catches my gaze, but so does the Hunter, his mask of shade still on. They never wanted us to see their faces because we would know who to look for on the streets. I leered my eyes at them, “Let her go,” I was more than ready to fight this asshole. But, instead, I feel a low growl behind me, the massive body of fur strides forward. Atticus towered over Hunter. But the Hunter showed no fear. Instead, he turned the knife around and pointed to Rosie’s heart. I gasp; as the Hunter raises the knife, I lunge forward, but before I get to her, Harvey strikes; first, he jumps onto the Hunter he turns his dagger onto him. Then, he stabs Harvey and drops Rosie. She crawls out of the reach of his grasp and over to us.

When I enter the house, I see people putting white flowers on the railings and pretty crystal decor everywhere. I see Thane as he comes down the stairs with two other people pointing to a clipboard and gesturing to areas of the house. "Wait, so this thing is supposed to give you magical properties?" Atticus asks as he examines the bracelet. I scoop a spoon full of the spaghetti sauce and taste it. "It's been two days and Harvey hasn't said a word," Rosie chews her lip, " He really thinks he doesn't need anyone. It's ridiculous." "Yeah, I know. He's bullheaded," These past two days Atticus has been trying to change Harvey's mind, but it was looking like a no-go. Harvey just wouldn't budge despite his situation. Suddenly Rosie halts, "Who is that?" she points, I follow her gesture to a female coming towards us in a royal blue robe. "She isn't part of the pack?" I asked. "No. She seems to be from another one," Rosie says. The female stops before us, "Hello," she dips her head slightly. "I'm sorry to disturb you, " she removes her hood, revealing her porcelain-like face, complimented by ink-black hair. "My name is Moraya. I'm from Harvey's late-pack."
