“So when sodium and potassium connect with water, the reaction causes the chemicals to explode.” Mr Edwards informed us as he stood before the class, wiggling the alkali metal in his fingers.

“Are you going to show us, Sir?” Archie shouted out, capturing the teachers attention.

Mr Edwards shook his head. “No, it’s far too messy. Anyway, you understand the point.” Well that was a waste of time.

The class groaned in boredom as Mr Edwards placed the rock back on his desk, before removing his gloves. “I’m going to collect the quiz from my office. I’ll not be a moment.” Mr Edwards nodded with a poker face before turning to leave the classroom.

Archie groaned loudly as he rested his head on my shoulder. “It’s the last week before summer and he’s handing out another test. What a kill joy. Why can’t we have some fun?”
