Chapter 2

   CHAPTER 2

   ~REGINA’S POV~

What is this place?

Walls of black stood around me, and screams of silence filled my ears.

The feelings I got from this environment were that of immense loneliness and pain. The feelings I've been living with till I got a glimpse of a beautiful lie.

A beautiful lie that cost me my life.

Is this what it feels like to be dead? Is this where I'm meant to spend the rest of my eternity? Wandering through these halls of darkness, searching for a light that may never exist?

Will I never get to fulfill my dreams and finally be happy?

Heavy tears fell from my tired orbs, and just as a sob left my lips. A heavy wind pushed me against my chest, its force so strong I stumbled like a clumsy child and fell into the darkness beneath me.

I jerked forward and clenched my chest to calm my frantic breathing. Heavy pants fell from my lips, and as my eyes scanned my environment, my blood ran cold.

I was no longer in the abyss I was meant to spend my eternity in. I'm now in a forest surrounded by trees I have seen too many times to forget their faces. The green of their leaves that once shone so brightly now seemed so dull, and the lake whose color that once gave life couldn't even shine brighter than my dull blue eyes. The grass beneath me is still covered in the ashes I rained on them during the 14th raid I brought to this place.

I'm in the Moon Crescent pack.

Confusion struck me for minutes till my eyes widened in realization.

She brought me back.

I swore that I would return to make Micheal pay, and she brought me back. The Moon goddess brought me back six months before my execution, six months before the fall of the Moon Crescent pack.

I stood to my feet and looked around with newfound hope, trying to remember exactly what I was doing on this day in my past life. Just as I remembered, I was investigating the extent of our raid on the pack as I have always done, and I felt an unfamiliar presence make itself known beside me. The hair on my body stood on end, and I growled in its direction.

“Who are you? Show yourself.”

Not a single attempt was made to reveal their identity, and just as I was about to invade their hiding spot, A tall, lean man emerged from the bushes and glared at me with hatred bleeding from his eyes.

“You're good. Most people wouldn't know I was there till it's too late. It's no wonder they call you the queen of war...”

My heart rate spiked when I felt more enemies surrounding me, and a low growl left my lips as a creepy smirk appeared on his.

“...but even someone like you isn't immune to blind spots. Catch her at all costs. She would make a perfect gift for our Alpha.”

                                                                            ~~~
I hung on the shoulder of this hoodlum like a ragdoll wrapped in silver chains and a silicone gag in my mouth while wallowing in self-loathe.
How did I find myself in a situation like this? I've been dead for barely a few hours, and I couldn't even best a pathetic troupe of wolves. Have I lost my touch?
“You know, you could have made this easier for us if you had just cooperated.”
I looked at him over my shoulder, wondering what the hell he was talking about when he spoke again.
“If you hadn't been so stubborn, you wouldn't be tied up, and my men wouldn't be going back home with broken bones, deep ass cuts, and PTSD.”
If it hadn't been for the gag over my mouth, I would have smirked. But just as I was about to give myself a mental oat on the back. I heard a smack sound, and moments later, I felt a sting on my left butt cheek.
He slapped my ass. Oh, hell no!
I shook on his shoulder, trying to free myself of these chains, but the more I struggled, the more the chains' abrasiveness irritated my skin. I didn't care; I just wanted to show him that he had no right to touch me like that.
He walked into a room and threw me to the floor like a sack of potatoes. I hit the floor with a thud and slithered my way to him like a worm, desperate to make him pay. Before I could move even an inch in his direction, the door swung open, and the man who walked in knocked the air out of my lungs.
Alpha Killian Crescent. The Alpha of the Moon Crescent pack. He walked towards my form and glared at me with so much disgust and hate that I almost quivered from his gaze.
Keyword–Almost. No one was going to intimidate me, especially not after being given a second chance to right the naive mistakes I made. I glared at him with equal force, and he smirked before he turned to his junkie, who still had his head bowed.
“Leonard.”
“Yes, Alpha?”
So that's the bitch's name.
“Remove her gag.”
One command held so much authority that I'm surprised I didn't shiver from it. Leonard moved towards me and removed the gag from my lips.
“Remove her chains.”
“But Alpha…”
“Don't make me repeat myself.”
Leonard proceeded to remove the chains on my body, and just as they were off, I pounced on him like a predator would its prey. My claws were out, and my vision was red as I rained punches on his face.
I was pulled away from him by other warriors while two others dragged him out of the room, and once he was safely away from me, they, too, fled for their lives.
Heavy pants fell from my lips as I turned to gaze at the tall, gray-eyed alpha who watched everything unfold with a thin line on his lips.
What was going through his mind is something I might never know, but what I do know is that this
encounter will change my life. I don't know if it's for better or for worse.
