CHAPTER 2
~REGINA’S POV~
What is this place?
Walls of black stood around me, and screams of silence filled my ears.
The feelings I got from this environment were that of immense loneliness and pain. The feelings I've been living with till I got a glimpse of a beautiful lie.
A beautiful lie that cost me my life.
Is this what it feels like to be dead? Is this where I'm meant to spend the rest of my eternity? Wandering through these halls of darkness, searching for a light that may never exist?
Will I never get to fulfill my dreams and finally be happy?
Heavy tears fell from my tired orbs, and just as a sob left my lips. A heavy wind pushed me against my chest, its force so strong I stumbled like a clumsy child and fell into the darkness beneath me.
I jerked forward and clenched my chest to calm my frantic breathing. Heavy pants fell from my lips, and as my eyes scanned my environment, my blood ran cold.
I was no longer in the abyss I was meant to spend my eternity in. I'm now in a forest surrounded by trees I have seen too many times to forget their faces. The green of their leaves that once shone so brightly now seemed so dull, and the lake whose color that once gave life couldn't even shine brighter than my dull blue eyes. The grass beneath me is still covered in the ashes I rained on them during the 14th raid I brought to this place.
I'm in the Moon Crescent pack.
Confusion struck me for minutes till my eyes widened in realization.
She brought me back.
I swore that I would return to make Micheal pay, and she brought me back. The Moon goddess brought me back six months before my execution, six months before the fall of the Moon Crescent pack.
I stood to my feet and looked around with newfound hope, trying to remember exactly what I was doing on this day in my past life. Just as I remembered, I was investigating the extent of our raid on the pack as I have always done, and I felt an unfamiliar presence make itself known beside me. The hair on my body stood on end, and I growled in its direction.
“Who are you? Show yourself.”
Not a single attempt was made to reveal their identity, and just as I was about to invade their hiding spot, A tall, lean man emerged from the bushes and glared at me with hatred bleeding from his eyes.
“You're good. Most people wouldn't know I was there till it's too late. It's no wonder they call you the queen of war...”
My heart rate spiked when I felt more enemies surrounding me, and a low growl left my lips as a creepy smirk appeared on his.
“...but even someone like you isn't immune to blind spots. Catch her at all costs. She would make a perfect gift for our Alpha.”
~~~
I hung on the shoulder of this hoodlum like a ragdoll wrapped in silver chains and a silicone gag in my mouth while wallowing in self-loathe.
How did I find myself in a situation like this? I've been dead for barely a few hours, and I couldn't even best a pathetic troupe of wolves. Have I lost my touch?
“You know, you could have made this easier for us if you had just cooperated.”
I looked at him over my shoulder, wondering what the hell he was talking about when he spoke again.
“If you hadn't been so stubborn, you wouldn't be tied up, and my men wouldn't be going back home with broken bones, deep ass cuts, and PTSD.”
If it hadn't been for the gag over my mouth, I would have smirked. But just as I was about to give myself a mental oat on the back. I heard a smack sound, and moments later, I felt a sting on my left butt cheek.
He slapped my ass. Oh, hell no!
I shook on his shoulder, trying to free myself of these chains, but the more I struggled, the more the chains' abrasiveness irritated my skin. I didn't care; I just wanted to show him that he had no right to touch me like that.
He walked into a room and threw me to the floor like a sack of potatoes. I hit the floor with a thud and slithered my way to him like a worm, desperate to make him pay. Before I could move even an inch in his direction, the door swung open, and the man who walked in knocked the air out of my lungs.
Alpha Killian Crescent. The Alpha of the Moon Crescent pack. He walked towards my form and glared at me with so much disgust and hate that I almost quivered from his gaze.
Keyword–Almost. No one was going to intimidate me, especially not after being given a second chance to right the naive mistakes I made. I glared at him with equal force, and he smirked before he turned to his junkie, who still had his head bowed.
“Leonard.”
“Yes, Alpha?”
So that's the bitch's name.
“Remove her gag.”
One command held so much authority that I'm surprised I didn't shiver from it. Leonard moved towards me and removed the gag from my lips.
“Remove her chains.”
“But Alpha…”
“Don't make me repeat myself.”
Leonard proceeded to remove the chains on my body, and just as they were off, I pounced on him like a predator would its prey. My claws were out, and my vision was red as I rained punches on his face.
I was pulled away from him by other warriors while two others dragged him out of the room, and once he was safely away from me, they, too, fled for their lives.
Heavy pants fell from my lips as I turned to gaze at the tall, gray-eyed alpha who watched everything unfold with a thin line on his lips.
What was going through his mind is something I might never know, but what I do know is that this
encounter will change my life. I don't know if it's for better or for worse.
CHAPTER 3 ~REGINA’S POV~Our eyes collided in the most intense staring contest in the history of humankind. The air was tense as neither of us was willing to back down for the other. Every breath we took. Every drop of sweat running down our necks, every thought that ran through our heads, and every rise and fall of our chests was a fight for dominance. A competition where only one victor can emerge victorious. Emotions rushed through me as I stood in front of him. Emotions that held my soul in a vice grip. Rage. Hatred. Lust. Disgust. The ingredients you would need to create a disaster.A pair of cloudy-colored eyes, a pair of full lips, a perfectly shaped nose, a short mop of black hair, and 193cm worth of height made up the Alpha of the pack I swore to destroy a long time ago. “Aren't you going to say something?” I asked with all the nonchalance in the world, my eyes not once leaving him afraid of
CHAPTER 4 ~KILLIAN’S POV~“There you are.”I pinched the bridge of my nose, and a sigh almost left my lips as my brother and the beta of my pack stood before Regina with anger and hate brewing in his eyes. “Killian.”“Yes.”“Why is she still here? If you aren't going to kill her, then at least she should be in the dungeon.” I stared at Callum with an intensity that could send an average wolf to insanity, but he wasn't an ordinary wolf. He was my brother. My right-hand man, my best friend, and my splitting image if it hadn't been for his shoulder-length hair, lip piercing, and emerald-colored eyes.“I was about to kill her.”“Then why didn't you?”“I was waiting for you.” A statement that wasn't exactly the truth but not entirely a lie. I was waiting for my brother, but I was waiting for him to burst his bubble and crumble his thoughts about the woman I would be with for the rest of my life. The
CHAPTER 5 ~REGINA’S POV~I sat on the cold concrete floor of the dungeon. Silver shackles decorated my hands and legs, making it difficult to think of anything other than the freedom of not wearing them.The heat of my anger sat more profound in my bones than the cold from the broken window 8 feet above the ground. I turned my head and glared at the two bastards who put me here in the first place.“We will release you when you're ready to tell the truth.”“But that was the truth! Why do you find it so hard to believe me?!”“Because you are the queen of War, and deception is your middle name.” I groaned in frustration and pulled my legs to my chin.“I didn't lie. That was the truth; everything I said was the truth.”“Sure thing, princess.”Killian patted my head like a dog, and it took all the willpower in my body not to bite off the fingers on his hand. The metal door was banged shut, and it
~REGINA’S POV~It's been three days since I last saw that demented human. Every second. Every minute. Every hour I spend in this place drives me to insanity. It seems like years I've been in this place when in reality it has only been three days. A gush of wind filled the cell from the broken window, carrying the scent of wet soil and spring rain. My wolf purred in my mind and a sigh left my lips as I closed my eyes to take a deep breath to enjoy this scent of nature. Until the door to my cell burst open and the ugly nature of Leonard is revealed. He glared at my shackled form and I glared back at him. The hatred he felt towards me couldn't hold a candle compared to mine. He unlocked the shackles on my hands and legs and spoke with a scornful voice. “On your feet. The Alpha and Beta have called for you.” I stood to my feet and before I could blink my eyes, he placed silver handcuffs on m
~REGINA’S POV~I stood in front of the Blue Lily pack. My heart pounding against my ribs as I dreaded the outcome of this encounter.In my past life, this discussion went by in a flash as we spent the day celebrating the losses of our rivals through hours of mindless sex. But it's different this time, this time I have seen the extent of his wickedness. I know how far he's willing to go to obtain power. I know he doesn't love me as much as I thought he did. I know everything. A sigh left my lips and I walked into the pack like I hadn't seen myself die within these very four walls. I passed the buildings that filled me with so many good memories and children that filled my heart with so with a joy I thought I could never feel again. I walked into Micheal's abode and ran my hands over the walls of the house I have called my home for as long as I can remember. Nostalgia filled my spirit and I couldn't he
CHAPTER 8 ~REGINA’S POV~“I don't see a reason why you have to go back to that pack.” Micheal leaned against the door as I packed everything I needed to go to the Moon Crescent pack. I told Micheal that I would be going there to study them more but what I didn't tell him was that the true purpose of my leaving was to plot his downfall with his enemies. “Regina.”“Yes.” I felt a pair of arms snake round my waist. The urge to empty my stomach washed over me but I got the best of myself as the bile rose to my throat. “I'm sorry about what I said the other day…” I rolled my eyes as he gave his fake apology. He doesn't care if my feelings got hurt by his words. All he wants to do is keep me in line so I don't rebel against him. But I guess it's already too late for that. “...I don't think it's unnecessary to mark you a
CHAPTER 9 ~REGINA’S POV~“That's not going to work.” A heavy sigh fell from my lips as I was interrupted for the tenth time. "Can't a girl give a speech without any interruptions? "“What makes you think that it's not going to work, Leonard?” That'd right the wolf who challenge my intelligence was none other than Leonard, a guard. Not the Alpha. Not the Beta but the guard. Why does the incompetent people question things they fail to understand. “It's not going to work because without our defenses we would be sitting ducks in the face of danger. Have to fight for our freedom and…” “Silence, Leonard. Let the woman speak.”Killian spoke in a voice laced with authority and Leonard clenched his fist in anger. His knuckles turned white as he held his head down as he gave me the floor to speak. “The reason I sugges
CHAPTER 10 ~REGINA’S POV~I stared at my reflection in the mirror. The sight of the woman staring back at me could make an artist hold his brush in wonder. Long curly blonde hair, porcelain skin, a pointed nose and a pair of big blue eyes gave people the impression that I was a Barbie doll who can easily be burnt in the face of fire. Razor sharp claws, scissors-like fangs and an unquenchable fire in my spirit reminded them that there's nothing fake about my strength. Thousands of unhealed wounds over my soul, a pain stricken heart and an agonizing look in my eyes reminds me of the broken little girl I once was. The broken girl I'm now fighting for. What did you do to acquire such power? I suffered. I went through hell and back. I cried to the gods to take my life. I begged them for a second chance in the womb of anot
