Chapter 29

I heard a voice say, "You look like you could use a drink." I turned to find a human lad sitting on the couch next to me that I didn't know. My red Solo cup was lifted just a little.

I muttered, "Got one," and took a sip. He laughed; he had unremarkable features, ashy blonde hair, and brilliant green eyes.

He laughed and said, "I can understand that. It was truly just a conversation starter. I gave him a critical glance but kept quiet. So it's not really a conversation starter, I see.

I questioned, "What do you want?" He may not have been the most attractive boy at the party, but I could tell he was making advances toward me.

I sensed something was wrong when he said, "See, my buddies and I were having a little debate," because of the malicious glitter in his eyes. I recognized some of the boys from the football squad but I didn't know their names as he motioned to a group of boys in the far corner. Before the person next to me continued talking, they both grinned and gently giggled.
