IRIS

It's been two weeks since I met Theodore. I was literally getting obsessed with everything that had to do with him. His touch, care, and affection were all I needed in a man, and he was that and more!

I sat in front of the mirror, anxious as my mind raced through a lot of things.

Tomorrow was supposed to be the day I will introduce Theo to my family.

I wondered if my father would buy the idea of me sticking to him, My father was a highly reputable Alpha of the Moon Hunters pack. He owned a lot of business establishments and empires all over the country and beyond.

As the only daughter, my family had always given me the best throughout my life, and if possible, they wanted me to marry a higher reputable man in order to have a secure future.

I shut my eyes as my maid helped me get dressed. If things go as planned, then I would be sleeping over at Theo's, and then tomorrow, we can both come and see my parents.

I'm so excited that I kept glancing at my wristwatch over and over again for the time we had fixed for the date. It's 6:30 pm already, and I haven't gotten a beep or text that indicates he is coming.

I huffed as my maid did the final touch on my face.

"Perfect!" I managed to smile over the nervousness that swelled inside me.

Packing up the important stuff I needed in the room, I took steps down to the sitting room where I met my mum and best friend discussing.

"Tianah!" I squeaked as we both hugged each other.

"Hi, babe." She holds me closer, and I feel all my nervousness disappear.

We are still discussing when my phone starts ringing. My heart started beating faster, and I felt a sudden burst of joy.

'He was finally here,' I meditated, hoping I could get a hold of my mobile phone.

I finally picked up the phone and answered the call.

"Hi, baby." I squeaked as my mum stared at Tianah, who in turn glared back at her.

I roll my eyes and make faces at them.

"Babe, I'm in front of your house. Are you ready?" He asked. He doesn't really seem okay from the way he was sounding, I need to hurry up and leave to see him.

"Mum, I need to get going. Tianah, I will see you when I can."

My mum smiled sweetly and kissed my forehead.

"Okay honey, I'll see you later."

"Woah! Are you going to leave without introducing me to him first?" Tianah frowned. Giving me that cute pony face that I couldn't resist.

"Fine! Just a glance." I warned her.

Tianah had a problem with men being around me and often told me to stay away from them. One time, she told my date to his face that she didn't like him and claimed he looked like an opportunist. That didn't go well as the guy never talked to me after that day.

Ever since then, I took preventive measures, keeping her away from my dates, which haven't exactly been working.

I quickened my steps outside the house, and I could see Theo standing next to his car, smiling at me.

His neatly curled hair and grey suit caught my attention, and I felt my heart skip a beat.

"Goddam!" Tianah exclaimed, drawing me out of my daydream.

I smiled. It was the first time she agreed with my choice, and I knew that she approves of him, and since she does, then my family would certainly be cool with him.

I walked down to meet him, and he was fast to pull me into a hug.

"Hi, babe." He kissed my forehead.

"Hey." He waved at Tianah, who gave a vibrant smile.

"Honey, this is my best friend Tianah, Tianah. This is Theo, my boyfriend."

I watched as they both greeted each other warmly.

I hugged Tianah before entering his car, and we drove off.

We arrived at his house about an hour's drive, and I was so exhausted.

It's not my first time being here, but it's definitely the first time I'm going to sleep over.

"We have arrived." He pulled the door open, and I came out with my handbag.

"I know you are tired, so just go inside, take your shower, and rest. I'll be back in a few minutes.

I blinked twice before asking, "Where are you going?"

Instead of replying, he planted a kiss on my forehead and promised to tell me when he got back.

I agreed and took my bag upstairs, I showered, took dinner, and laid down on the couch, waiting for him.

**********************************

I wake up to the piercing rays of the sun.

"Ouchhh." I moaned, turning away to the other side of the bed.

My eyes widened as I realized I'm in bed!

I remember I had slept off on the couch, not on the bed. I'm amidst thoughts when I noticed someone pull the door open.

I turned around to behold Theo, laughing at me.

"What?" I rolled my eyes at him, and I'm about to say something when my eyes caught the wall clock.

"8:30! How long have I been sleeping? How did I even get to the room?" I panicked, pushing myself to the edge of the bed, and before I could say another word, Theo caught me, pulling me to his chest and wrapping his hands around my waist.

I am mute for a few seconds, trying to 'live in the moment' when I remember we were supposed to be at my house by 9:00.

How on Earth are we going to make it this way, I frowned.

"This isn't going to help us, you know?" I stripped myself of the clothes I was wearing and then wrapped my body with a towel, hurrying into the bathroom to shower.

I returned shortly, and I'm amazed to see Theo already dressed.

"How do I look?" He asked, looking at me as though his whole life depended on my response.

"Stunning!" I exclaimed as I adjusted his collar.

Afterward, I got dressed, I wasn't exactly good with make-up, so I avoided them. I could only pray Tianah would be there to help me out before anything else.

"Set?" He asked.

"Yes!" I huffed as he turned on the car and started driving.

We didn't speak much, I could see from his face how nervous he was about meeting my parents. I wanted to relieve him of the stress, but I resolved that leaving him alone was a better option.

We finally arrived in front of my house, and I could hear, my heart beating faster as we got out of the car and steered towards the door.

My mum pulled the door open even before we were close enough.

I huffed, nervously looking behind her to see my entire family staring at us.

I squeezed his hands gingerly as we walked boldly to greet my father.

'This is it, Iris.' I spoke to myself as I noticed the rapid increase in my breath.
