Iris Jones thought her life was perfect, blessed with everything she can ever ask for and with a perfect mate who loved and adore her or so she thought. I placed my cutlery down on my empty plate and reached for the glass of wine that sat beside it. My eyes were on Theodore as I brought the cup to my lips and took a sip.He sat there watching me ever since he finished his dinner, a bright unwavering smile on his face as he intertwined his fingers and used them as a resting place for his chin.“Why do you keep looking at me like that?” I chuckled as I wiped my mouth with a tablecloth.“You’re just so beautiful, I wonder how I became the luckiest man in the world by just deciding to give you a ride that day.”I gave him a teasing smile as I leaned in closer to the table. “So, you mean you didn’t have any intention of asking me out when you picked me up?”He chuckled loudly. “Please, I mean yes. I tossed from side to side on my bed. I pulled the blankets over my head in a bid to cover my ears from the irritating noise. I could still hear it faintly. I took steps backwards, staggering and struggling to hold on to my dear life. The blood from my stomach had covered my entire cloth and I doubt if I was going to make it out alive. "I will be fine."
