My eyes flash between them as they glare at one another. Father was stuck in his ways, just as Jaxon was stuck in his.

“What do you want?” My question wasn’t aimed at anyone in particular. I just needed to know where I stood. Would I be siding with my brother or our father?

Jaxon narrows his eyes at me. “You know exactly what I want.”

“That’s not what I meant, Jaxon. What is it that you hope to gain from having this knowledge about Blue? You said it yourself, you are not willing to reject her. So what does it matter what her background is?”

“Don’t you think that she has a right to know?”

“Maybe, but she already comes with baggage. Is it fair to put more on her?”

“You don’t want to know?” He asks me, confused.
