Chapter 71

The nurses came over with a bottle of water as Amelia had requested. She took it from the nurse close to her.

“Thank you”. She uncocked it and then drank a few gulps.

“You're welcome”, they said to her with a smile and then helped her lay on her bed gently. Head first and then body. Amelia had changed into their attire and now, she wore an oversized top as she lay there, silently tolerating the pain in her abdomen.

“How long is this going to take?” she said with a smile. The insides of her abdomen began to contract harder. She winced a little.

“We’ve never seen a pregnancy like this but hopefully, everything goes right. Over two hours or at most, there”.

It had been over three hours as Amelia sat in her labor room and yet, she had not been able to push the head of the child out.
