Chapter 5

Rocio's Pov

Upon sinking through my head I woke up to no one next to me. I spent the last five minutes of my life musing while my eyes memorized the intricate details on the ceiling that I couldn't pay attention to last night.

I resorted to tightly pressing my lips against one another to mask the ghostly smile that's haunting me as my mind lives through the memories of the passionate night I shared with a total stranger that I must call my husband from now forward.

"Rocio, since when did you become this raunchy?" I lashed out at myself as the thrilling sexual urge jumped right back to me with just a mere thought of Alas, and how expert he was at fucking. I rolled to the other side of the bed that I instantly regretted it as the remnant of last night rattled my lower body, thrusting out for my legs, I quickly panned my hands closer to my face to get a proper look at the diamond ring that's making my ring finger sparkly.

"He has a diamond ring ready, in my size? When did he make me wear this?" I whispered to no one. I pushed and pumped myself out of bed, and though I did, I had to pay a freaking price. It hurt, my legs, my cunt--- all of it hurts!

Getting a glimpse of the diamond on my finger cheered me up, withdrawing the ring from my finger, I found myself biting the diamond to check if it was real, then someone opened the door, appalling me and I accidentally lobbed the engagement ring.

The lady about my age popped a friendly smile and headed to the ring lying flat on the floor.

"Good morning, Czarina," she greeted. She unfurled her palm, asking for mine, which I gave thoughtlessly. She easily glided the diamond ring back on my finger.

"You must take care of this. Many will try to skim not just this ring from you, but you as a whole from the czar's life." I moistened my lower lip and sough that gathered a curious gaze from her.

"I was against the idea of marrying myself to him. I begged for him to let go of me last night, but now that there's no turning back, rather than hearing warnings, I would have loved it if at least one person congratulated me," I confessed.

The female servant panned at the door, expecting someone to sweep the room with her presence, closed to averting my eyes from the door, a woman, closer to my anger sashayed elegantly in the master's.

I threw a Who is she looked at the servant, but she didn't have the chance to mouth the answer to me as the woman gently pounced her cheeks against me.

"Fancy to meet you, I'm Beryl Ametrine Morana, Beryl to everyone, I'm your fiancé's cousin, take note that we don't actually get along, we hated each other's guts." Beryl scrunches her nose, her eyes wheeling around the room.

"That maniac, he couldn't even wait for the two of you to get married, he immediately consummated your marriage." Beryl rolled her eyes and sighed, "But he got your consent, right?"

Maybe I was being too cocky when I told Alas that I could handle myself around the people he's tangled with because this one, I can't, she seems fun to be with, but she'll drain the life out of me with her energy.

"I must join them in their meeting down the hall. I only stopped by to say my congrats, cousin-in-law." Beryl threw kisses and then bolted out of the room.

"What just happened?" I asked the servant, she shrugged her shoulder and took out a dress from a Dior box.

"You're off to the wedding boutique to pick your gown for you and the Czar's wedding that will happen this Sunday." My head short-circuited remembering today's date.

"But today is Friday, would it be possible to have a proper wedding having only two days to prepare it?"

"For the Moranas who have the money and connection for every single thing that you can think of, yes, it is, the sky is their limit."

My lips formed a circle, while the woman patiently attended to my curiosity, "What's your name?"

"Edwina, Czarina."

"Czarina, I know for a fact that it's not my name. Alas, called me that too, last night, and you'd been addressing me that since you first stepped into the master's. What does that mean?"

"It simply means the wife of the Czar. The Czar is what we call the ruling head of the rune's society. Czar meant emperor too, so Czarina means empress."

"Holy hell," I blobbed out, "I went from being a fly of the society that my mother sold in an auction to a freaking empress of a mafia group?!" I maffled before I tossed my eyes back to Edwina and collected myself.

Staring over at the latched double door across the grand staircase of the state after Edwina helped me to ready myself for the appointment, "Is he almost done with his meeting?" I asked.

"Who? The Czar?" I nodded my head in response to her inquiry.

"The Czar is not coming with you. It'll be just me and you, as he isn't allowed to waste his time with something so trivial."

"The preparation for our wedding is something he deemed trivial?" Fear crossed in Edwina's eyes and while she was panicking, ransacking her head for a good reason to save herself from me, her phone rang. Edwina gestured for me to stock-still in my place, I planned to do so until I caught myself pushing the door open.

Lower lips split up from the upper, it was a clear sign that I interrupted Alas from speaking.

"What is it, Rocio?" His sudden aloofness made me vulnerable, his lips shaking, and the eyes of the people hovering over my frame further dragged the anxiety across my body.

"Unless you're too dense to notice, we're in the middle of an important meeting and you're wasting everyone's time. What do you fucking want?" Alas raked his eyes for someone who should have stopped me from walking in.

"Czar, an apology. It won't happen again," said a man in a black suit before he guided and ushered me out of the hall.

"You fucking make sure that she'll never step in places where she shouldn't be!" Alas shouted as a follow-up. His armed man in suit closed the door, shooing me, insulted wouldn't even amount to how I felt as I bailed out of the place with my shattered pride.
