Chapter 87

Upon entering, she gently called out to Cassandra , who stirred and opened her eyes, squinting against the bright sunlight. Reacting quickly, I pulled the curtains to provide some shade. Cassandra 's voice was hoarse as she spoke, "I don't feel too good."

Mom asked her what was wrong, to which she replied, "My head aches, my body is aching too, and I feel feverish." She appeared exhausted.

I think she should see a doctor, Mom suggested .

I hesitated for a moment, but Mom insisted, "Jasper, call the doctor." However, Cassandra objected.

"What? No! I just need to sleep a little, I will be alright."

Despite her protestations, Mom was resolute, "Nonsense! Jasper, call the doctor up now!"

Without delay, I called the doctor who promised to arrive soon. I sat by Cassandra 's side while Mom went to inform Dad that Cassandra wasn't feeling well. Mom offered to cancel their meeting in the next town, but Cassandra refused, "I'm sure it's nothing serious. Please don't cancel because of me.
