Nikolai’s POV

Tired from the drama of the night, Andre had left me to myself so I decided to retire back to the bedroom to check up on Liliana.

“How is she?” I asked the guards when I got to the door and they assured me that she was fine with no reason to be worried about her.

Nodding, I made my way inside the bedroom to see that she was still very much awake and her eyes glinted when she saw me, almost like she was glad that I’m fine.

“I thought you were asleep,” I said, my voice low and resigned as I sat next to her, “why are you still up so late?” I enquired.

“I’m going to ask you one more time and I want you to give me nothing but the damn truth,” She retorted, her eyes fiery and her pupils dilating with anger.

“What is going on?” She asked and I smiled, hoping that she wouldn’t go all foxy on me if I told her one more time that it was nothing she should worry about.

“It’s just…”

“I’m not a child, Nikolai, I know that something is wrong, I can hear the commotion from over here but
