Nikolai’s POV

“Promise me you’re not going to change if we get back home?” Lilliana had said as we packed our bags and got ready to leave.

Our vacation was over and I knew that she needed that much reassurance from me, she needed to be sure that I wasn’t going to change.

“I promise.” I’d said, giving her my word but I had no idea if I was going to be able to keep my promise. I intend to but what happens when the going gets tough?

What happens when the circumstances change and we both just can’t be together due to our differences?

Sighing, I looked down at Lilliana, she was hanging on to me and I still couldn’t bring myself to believe that the vacation was over.

I still couldn’t bring myself to believe that all the time I spent with her was all over and we were now flying back home, back to our normal life.
