Lilliana’s POV

The sound of someone shouting jolted me awake and I groaned as I opened my eyes. It was totally new and confusing.

Who could be yelling by this time of the day?

My movement must’ve woken Nikolai because he also stood, rubbing his eyes and also clearly shocked at the chaos and noise coming from downstairs.

“Are you okay? What’s wrong?” He asked and I shook my head as I tried to listen to the angry voice that had jolted me awake.

“I’m fine but can’t you hear that?” I asked and Nikolai nodded, from the look he had on, I didn’t need a soothsayer to tell me that he wanted to tell me that I had nothing to worry about.

“Lily, you don’t—“

“I want to see what’s going on,” I said before he could get the chance to interject and ask me not to care about the obvious chaos going on downstairs.

Standing from the bed, a part of me felt like I already knew what was going on. I had an idea of who could’ve been constituting this kind of nuisance.
