Tackling Selena when there was a more important issue at hand wasn't worth it and so I returned my full concentration to the maids who were kneeling before me.

One after the other, I took in their expressions. As expected, they all wore a look of innocence mixed with fright, a weird combination if I was asked.

The preparator was in their midst but instead of revealing herself and saving the others, she decided to act innocent like the rest.
