One Hundred and Twenty Five

Asher’s POV

I wasn’t sure what was happening, but I could hear the beeping sound all around me, and it was so irritating. I would feel my head pounding as well, as if it my rolled off my neck if I moved too much.

It took me a while before I realized where I was and why I was hearing the beeping sound. I was in the hospital, but I wasn’t sure I knew why. Maybe the reason was somewhere there in my subconscious.

As I slowly opened my eyes, the harsh glare of the hospital lights stung me, and it pierce through the haze of the anesthesia that clouded my mind. “I need water.” I said, or maybe I just thought I said it.

Everything felt heavy, as if I were trapped in some sort of surreal nightmare. Blinking away the grogginess, I tried to piece together the fragments of memory from before the darkness had consumed me.
