Chapter Eight

She thrashed about the bed until she woke up. It didn't stop the pain.

“He was at it again”, she thought. Was it ever going to stop? But this time around, it was different. It felt like a distant familiar feeling. She hoped it was not. She held her stomach tight. She could feel the claws coming out.

“This can't happen.” She concentrated hard on the patterns of the ceiling trying to fight it.

She believed her uncle when he told her that it was over. She didn't know she was biting her lips until she tasted blood. The taste of her blood increased her hunger. She threw herself to the floor.

'Wolfsbane!’ It was the only thing that was able to calm her each time.

Where would she find it here and in a short period? She knew what would happen if she let it take over her completely. It was going to happen again and this time, her uncle was not here to make it stop. She had to work her salvation somehow by herself.
