The silence in the room was deafening; the loud thuds of their heartbeats could be heard from a distance as Madison's cold gaze pierced the depths of his deep blue eyes.

She wanted answers. Somehow, somewhere deep down in her heart, she prayed this was all a misunderstanding. She desperately wanted him to tell her it wasn't what it seemed.

There was no telling what would become of her if Liam had been taking her for a fool all along. Her heart wasn't built for such a streak of pain. Not when she had already fallen in love with him.
