CHAPTER 49

When Cameron and Diego arrived at the hospital, the pain in Cameron’s heart was already leaving breathless. In a way, it felt like it was her fault. In a way, she also knew she couldn’t stop what her sister wanted to do all along, because it was who she was. The really surprising fact was knowing her capable of such a thing. She had killed her grandfather, and there was no way Cameron could prove that.

At the waiting room, Mrs. Ferrer, Ace, Mr. Ferrer and the little boy Gadriel were waiting for Camilla –the real Cameron- and Diego. There was nothing she could do.

As soon as Ace saw her coming, he got up. Gadriel ran to her, without caring about the man who was beside her.

“Mommy!” Gadriel said. “Mommy, what’s going on? I don’t understand anything. My father wanted me to stay at home but Mrs. Maria didn’t go to work. I didn’t want to stay alone. What’s going on? Why did you come here? My daddy said this is more important than the dinner we have prepared for you.”
