CHAPTER 6

Those dreams, those illusions that she once had, those dreams with which she went to bed every night for every time she felt she was getting closer to her goal, today were nothing more than pieces of a life that never saw the light, that simply remained wanting to be just that, a life. The life that was no longer hers because it now belonged to the people who had married her to the man who had hurt her at that moment. There was nothing left, nothing left of that life that she had begun to build and that only remained in plans.

From her beautiful eyes, tears came out the moment she understood who she was. The pain in the sole of her foot and a little higher up, made her stop almost as soon as she wanted to get up from the floor.

She didn't know if what hurt more were the cuts on her feet or the way that man had treated her. Like another object, like that glass picture frame, like the broken glass that flooded the floor, she was her. No more than a woman with a broken life.
