Veronica
(4:57am)
I woke up earlier than I normally did, even earlier than Cynthia the early bird. With nothing to do but stare at the fake stars I decorated my ceiling with, I stood up from my bed and went to my friend's room. Cynthia was sprawled on the left side of the bed, an arm hanging from the side of the bed, her black hair scattered on the pillow. Louise slept soundly beside her on his side, facing the window.
"Did you have a nightmare?" Cynthia asked just as I had been sneaking out of the room.
I smiled and watched her lift her sleepy head off the bed, trying to keep her eyes open.
"No, I didn't. Go back to sleep." I told her, already closing the door.
I decided to watch a movie on Netflix, so I set up the TV and searched for a funny movie to watch. I settle on pink panther and in no time, I began to laugh. I was still watching when my phone came on as I text came in. I dropped the bowl of popcorn I made to watch the movie beside m
Hunter(Apartment)7:20 amI hadn't been up to two hours since I spoke to Veronica and I was already missing her. It was weird that before her, I totally loved my solitary lifestyle, enjoying my own company and not bemoaning anything. It was bliss and peace at it's finest for me, at least till she came into my world. Now, I couldn't seem to enjoy my company without thinking I had to talk to her or see her. My brother, Victor, would have laughed at me, saying something along the line of how I was henpecked. Thinking of him, I picked up my phone and dialed his number, knowing he was probably sleeping or working at the hospital."Hallo, brother from another mother!" He yelled into the phone and I removed the device away from my ear, not wanting to lose my precious sense organ."Why are you so chirpy this morning?" I asked, returning the phone back as I rested against the counter of my kitchen, a mug of coffee in my other hand."Because I feel l
9:45am(Diana's house)Diana watched Mark as he dressed for a meeting. He had been neglecting work for a while now because of Simon's issue, but he couldn't avoid the meeting he had that day. He placed his left arm into a white shirt, and pulled it up the arm."I don't have time for morning sex, if that's what you want." Mark said, looking at Diana through the tall standing mirror in their large wardrobe that functioned as a dressing room."Sheesh, who told you I want morning sex?" She returned and he winked in return, licking his lips for good measure. She rolled her eyes and walked to his front, picking the tie he had selected by himself as she did. She began to loop the tie around his neck, making it for him. Diana remembered when she taught him how to color code his clothes, taking him shopping for fancy shoes and dress shirts and all that. She gave a smile when she remembered the time she had been trying to teach him how to knot a tie. It had b
VeronicaImmediately I got to my office, I picked up my phone on the desk and dialed Hunter's number."Missed me already? Was missing you too." He said in greeting and I shook my head like he could see my from where he was, not in the right mood for sweet talks."You won't believe what happened to me today," I said, my eyes repeatedly watching the door like Evans could burst in at any moment and catch me. Why I felt I needed to fear, I didn't understand but watchful I was."What?" He asked, sounding curious in a distracted way."Are you busy?" I asked, realizing I could have called when he was doing something."Nope, not yet at least. Continue with what you were saying, what happened?""Well, Evans called me into his office and began to ask me about our relationship." I paused there, waiting for a reaction. All I got was a confused ooo-kay."And then he advised that whatever happens between us shouldn't affect your
Hospital11:45amDiana exhaled as she waited patiently for the gynaecologist to return. She closed her eyes and mentally pushed her fears to the back of her mind, needing to be strong for whatever the doctor will say to her.She wished she had told Mark about the real reason for her visit, but she knew he had been so occupied with Simon and Dulce's problem, he had neglected his work. And knowing him, he would abandon his important meeting to come with her if he knew she was pregnant. The sliding door gave a quiet whoosh sound as it opened and Diana turned to watch the doctor come into the room, a paper in her hands which she studiously watched, walking blindly to her seat."I must say to you, Mrs Roberts, that from where I see it, everything looks good. You are seven weeks along and you are healthy." The doctor said and Diana released a sigh filled with relief, she had been so worried something will go wrong."Thank you so much doctor.
Bainbridge islandIt came as no surprise to anyone as Lucinda kept yelling at slow drivers or inconsiderate drivers on their way to the supermarket close to town. Betty kept cringing, trying her best to hide her face even though she knew most people knew who they were."Will you stop shouting at every driver we pass or see. This is why I dislike going out with you without Jameson in the car, you can be so overbearing and frustrating." Betty complained, taking her eyes off the paved road long enough to sneer at her mother.Lucinda shook her head, her gaze going to the rearview mirror to catch a glimpse of Kelly, who sat patiently at the back, watching them while trying her best not to laugh at the two women."Nobody owns the road, so they should get their heads together and drive or stay off the road so others can use it; it's called being considerate. If you find offense because I am telling them to use the road well, it's your business not mine." L
Writer's povDiana walked towards the glass double doors of the hospital building, her gait slow and unsteady as she thought back to what she was told. She couldn't help but worry even though she had been told not to worry at all. She dropped both hands on her still flat tummy, caressing it gently like she was patting a baby."I didn't know how to feel when I suspected I was pregnant, but when I confirmed I was pregnant, I began to love you, I didn't want to lose you too."She thought back to a time, seven years ago, when she found out that she was pregnant. Mark had gone on a trip and she had been eager to tell him that they finally had another baby. She tried to reach him to tell him about the news, but the time difference made connecting difficult. When she didn't reach him, she went to bed, her excitement making her sleep soundly. How she lost the baby, she couldn't even explain till now. It was a thing of shock when Cherry came into her room to wake he
Hunter povWith nothing to do since I was currently jobless, I found myself going to the children home I always visited whenever I had the chance. Not knowing what I would meet there or what I might be told to do, I wore a grey crazy jeans with a black Henley and my leather jacket. The weather was very unpredictable because of the climate change, so it was extremely cold for this particular time of the year. I decided to take the subway, not wanting to be stuck in traffic. I walked into the subway and got on the train. It was sparingly filled so I was able to find a seat. I didn't know why but I looked up from my phone ten minutes later to look at the lady and man arguing silently infront of me."I said I don't talk to me!" She silently yelled at him, her face morphed in this weird way it reminded me of the alien in alien vs predator."You can't say that, look I know that what I did hurt you, but you should know that it was then, we are together now and we
Hunter's povI watched Kate as she took a cigarette from her pack and went ahead to light it, taking a deep draw of the smoke in, coughing as she did so."You really shouldn't be doing that." I said, shaking my head in reproach."You want to stop me, give me a kiss and I'll stop." She said in return, looking at the building where we could hear the voices of kids singing loudly."Cindy shouldn't catch you smoking." I said again, even though I knew nothing could stop her from taking it in."I have gotten to an age where I really don't care about anything anymore.""Not even your son?" I asked, talking about my friend, Oscar. She gave a sad smile, watching the sky as she smoked, "He already has his girlfriend and Cindy, he obviously considers Cindy more of a mother than he does me." She sounded a bit bitter but I looked at her, taking my gaze off the sky."He loves you, that's why I'm telling you that you should stop all these nonsense and
