It has been a month since Rose’s accident, and she was still in a coma. Eric phoned my parents the night things spiralled out of control, and I sat on the hospital floor wailing. My parents rushed over as soon as they could. Needless to say, they were shocked to see the state I was in. My mother sat on the floor, comforting me. Father stood next to me and placed his hand on my shoulder to comfort me in his own way. I was a complete mess – still am. I did not want Rose’s parents to find out about what had happened, but mother insisted that they had to know.
