Around seven at night, everybody was at our house, ready to discuss how things would go regarding the whole Charlene situation. The idea of revenge conquered my mind and I wasn't going to be satisfied until I took revenge.“So legally or illegally?” I wondered, looking at all of them.“I wasn't aware that an illegal approach is a possibility,” Rowena commented.“Why would we resort to the illegal option when we have what we need to approach the whole matter legally,” Keith wondered.“What do you have?” I asked, trying to be calm.“The rogue in our dungeons had his phone. When we opened it, we found a recording. He recorded the deal with your sister,” Jorah recounted what happened.“Stop calling her my sister,” I snapped. “She's not my sister and they aren't my family!”“Sorry.” Jorah raised his hand in surrender. “He recorded t

I could see pure guilt in each move Ayla made. The unbearable remorse that filled her soul. I spoke with the girls and they told me that she had been oddly keeping her distance; I wasn't fond of this. This wasn't a good indicator. Jorah informed me that she had been training hard with him, pushing herself until there was no breath left in her. I wasn’t sure what she was trying to prove to herself, but I could tell that mentally, she was okay. She was burying herself in work and training, not giving herself the chance to rest.I didn't expect her to allow me to sit with her on the roof, but luckily she agreed. Her words held so much worry that I didn't want her to shoulder. I didn't give a damn if more problems arose when she joined us. She was my mate and I wanted her as she was. I wanted her with her happy moments, sad moments, gifts, and problems. I wanted her as a whole and I desired no other female but her.She had to understand that she was a part of our fam

“Ayla, please, make them stop! She’s going to die,” Oriana sobbed as she went onto her knees before me, keeping a hold on my hands. No, I didn't want my sister to kneel before me. Oriana wasn't responsible for Charlene's mistakes. “Stand up,” I quietly said, pulling her up. She ended up crying in my arms and I didn't find it in my heart to push her away.  Not when she was this vulnerable. “We’re sorry, but stop!” she cried, tightening her grip around me as her body trembled. “Stop!” I found myself shouting, causing the warrior who was whipping Charlene to halt. I walked towards ‘my sister’ who was chained to the pole, and when I looked towards Oriana, I nodded at her, allowing her to approach Charlene. Nobody from Crimson was allowed to approach her without permission from the Alpha or Luna of Silver Moon. “You're going to let me treat her wounds, right?” Oriana sniffed as she lifted Charlene’s head a little. “Please,” she whimpered. I only nodde

Fifteen days had passed over bringing Charlene to our dungeons. Many things happened during that period of time, but nothing had really changed between Xander and I. I was still sleeping in my old room and he was sleeping in our bedroom. I debated putting an end to our misery more than once, but I couldn't look past how he intentionally blocked me. I hated how pushing me away was always the first thing he resorted to whenever anything happened between us. This was my turn to push him away; I wanted him to have a taste of his own medicine.I met Oriana once, but I didn't invite her over to my new residence. I still didn't feel comfortable bringing her to where I lived. I didn't trust her enough to do that. We met at a park, somewhere where Quinn could play. I quickly bonded with the little girl and I got to know a side of Oriana I never saw before.I had to admit, Oriana was nice, but I still feared that this all might have been a huge façade. She told me again h

“I understand all of this, but you said it. It has been around a month and he has been doing everything to earn your forgiveness. He has gone above and beyond. When he contacted me to invite me to spend a few days at your pack, he said that I was welcome to bring anyone I wanted with me just so I could come over,” Loana told me as we sat down at a table after getting our coffee. “He even promised my mate that he'd personally take care of me when he learned that I was going to come alone and how worried my mate was that I would be travelling alone.” Her words were an extra affirmation to the fact that I was already sure of. I knew that Xander was loving and caring. I didn’t need anybody to tell me that he loved me, because I was certain that he did. “I’m scared of forgiving him. It feels like each time I do that, he ends up hurting me again,” I spoke, stirring my straw in my iced coffee. “He doesn’t do it intentionally though and it’s like he regrets his actions almos

“Still asleep?” Dinah asked me as I sat on the small couch in the room. Ayla fell unconscious after helping Keith out. She saved his life, but his injuries were terrible that healing them wore her out. I nodded at Dinah, then looked at my mate again. For the first time in exactly twenty-nine days, my mate told me that she loved me. Well, she did say it on her birthday, but this one felt better because it was out of the blue. I thought that I would never hear those words from her again, but she said them. She brought me back to life just by saying these words.“How’s Keith?” I looked at Dinah as I spoke.“Stable and healing, thanks to Ayla.” Dinah’s mouth curled into a small smile as she said that. “She saved his life. She’s not stupid. She knew what was going to happen to her and that’s why she asked for the Juliet Rose water once she saw his state.”“I didn’t know.”

“Okay, I really don't understand where you're taking me,” I told him as I took the bottle of juice out of the plastic bag. “You know, I'm kind of your mate. You don't need to worry about me killing you.” He chuckled. I removed the cap and gave it to him. “I know!” I exclaimed, laughing a little. “I just want to know where we're going.” “You'll find out in two hours or less,” he told me. “Fine.” I playfully rolled my eyes. Loana left a couple of days ago and yesterday, after returning from the airport, Xander surprised me and told me I needed to pack. I thought we would be going on a business trip, but it turned out to be a four-day getaway. Being the usual pain in the ass he was, he refused to tell me where he'd be taking me and no matter how many times or what I did to bribe him, he didn't give in. To give him some credit, he did tell me that we wouldn't be leaving the states. I reached for the AUX and connected it with my phone, deciding to

Letting her meet Oriana on her own wasn’t a good choice, but she kept insisting that nothing bad would happen. I didn’t know how I believed that she would be safe. I should have sent somebody else with her. “Something bad must have happened to her! It’s been eight hours and she’s not answering her phone!” I hissed as I paced around the house. Keith was with me while Jorah and Declan were sweeping our borders with Crimson. She told me she wasn’t going to meet Oriana anywhere in their territory and they agreed to meet on a neutral land, but something didn’t feel right. She wasn’t even answering me through our mind-link. Suddenly, an idea popped into my head. Without saying a word, I ran out of the house and Keith was right on my heels. Her car had GPS and it was connected to my phone and hers. I could easily track her car. I opened the GPS on my phone and drove to where it was. My demons whispered ill-thoughts in my head that I wanted to scream out

She betrayed me. I was an idiot for trusting her. I thought there was a chance for us to be actual sisters, but I was wrong. She was a Crimson. Their venomous blood ran through her veins. Giving her a second chance cost me my freedom, but I was sure that he was coming for me. The whole pack would come for me.“Ayla, you have to believe me. I swear I knew nothing about this.” Crocodile tears rushed down Oriana’s face as she stood behind the bars separating us.“There’s no need to carry on with your act, Oriana. I fell for your words and here I am in the dungeons, but I can assure you that they will come for me. Silver Moon will rattle your temporary peace,” I spat, doing my best to ignore the burning sensation of the silver manacles against my bare wrists.“I didn’t know! I swear on my daughter’s life. I never wanted to hurt you,” she whimpered, but I ignored every word that escaped her lips. “It w

They had my mate and I needed to be fast. I was aware that by every minute, she was suffering one way or another. I wasn’t going to sit on my ass and feel her pain through the bond without doing anything.Almost six days passed over the last time I heard her sweet voice through the bond. I barely slept as I spent days and nights preparing my warriors for the attack. No words were sent to the council because they would do nothing but delay me.I intended to kill Oriana the moment I saw her. She betrayed Ayla even after she was forgiving enough to reconsider a relationship with her. Betrayal ran through her blood. She was a Crimson after all.“Xander, we received this almost ten minutes ago. A Crimson left it on our borders and left,” Keith told me, handing me a paper. We were all gathered at my house to put the final touches to our plan. We were going to retrieve Ayla. She was our Luna and we were ready to do anything to get her back. The
