Two faces of Eve
Once they we're back home, Lyra headed straight for her room. Inside, she changed into something more comfortable for the rest of the day—though, a sweatshirt on pajamas wasn't her best option of clothing but a spine chilling shiver gripped her body the outfit was her only chance to feel warmth. Her mind couldn't help but skitter back to the little fling with Marcel in the car. She'd never been the type to get faltered by blunt advances from men but with Marcel it was different and it scared her. It scared her because there was something about him that beckoned unto her to eat of the forbidden fruit—to drag her soul into the darkness that loomed before her. But that wasn't what scared her the most, what scared her was falling for the darkness, to willingly let it consume and ruin her. Nothing felt as wrong as falling for Marcel, not only was he her employer but it was all happening too fast. Lyra bundled herself up in b

Jan 20.2021LyraIt was dark and the darkness consumed any hint of light, her eyes strained themselves as it tried to make out any light in the dark but it all proved useless while she stood in the void abyss of limbo. "Lyra," she heard a faint cackle from a distance where an unknown voice called to her. "Hello! Is anyone here?!" She shouted out but all she could get as a response was her own voice bouncing off the walls of whatever containment she was in. She saw a little flicker of light and a dark silhouette pass through, hastily following the little bit of light to where the gloomy shadow stood she felt herself hit a restraint. "Lyra." The looming voice echoed her name again. "Come closer."Lyra pushed at the invincible restraint, eager to get a cle

Sugar rush
Had she been too foolhardy to have willed herself off to his whims? He'd clearly cited his warnings but like someone under a spell, she'd eagerly followed him off like a lamb to the slaughter.  They embarked on the two hour journey to Blue field in silence; Marcellus had been engrossed in whatever he'd been doing on the phone while Lyra worked on a few documents on her laptop.  The car stopped at an harbour and their lugages was moved into a private yatch. The night breeze fanned her skin when she alighted from the yatch and they made their way to a beach resort on the island of Haling Cove.  The resort had been a fabulous exquisite looking glass house which seemed portable and classy at the same time. The interior decor was modern and screamed finesse, vibrant colors decked the walls of the house; something which Marcellus's mansion at Ocean city lacked. The expensive house looked like one of those houses on Bondi beach or the resorts on the M

Two kinds of bad
His words were clear. He'd made his intentions known then left her a squirming mess while he walked away with an annoying look on his face. Lyra recalled the incident of the precious night they'd arrived.  She couldn't shake off the burden of guilt as it wedged itself heavily on her mind. Even though Shannon had pretended or acted like she didn't care if Marcellus had been outwardly flirting with her, it was all wrong.  Last night proved it all, it was on a total new level of wrong, it went against her every moral and principles as a woman and against her job ethics which was; never fall for or date your clients, co-worker or employer.  She'd kissed another woman's man, eagerly accepted his advances and enjoyed every part of it. She hated herself for liking what he did to her, hated herself for letting him do them to her. Lyra could pretend all she wanted but deep down the charade of trying to resist him, a part of her wanted him so. Sh

You're not wearing that Lyra." Marcellus spoke agitatedly raking his hand through his perfectly sleeked back hair, ruining it in the process.  "I think I have the right to wear what I want. Besides, what's your problem with this dress?!" Lyra fired back for the umpteenth time.  This was her body they were talking about here and she could as much as choose whatever she wished to wear. She'd wondered why he'd been so adamant on choosing her outfit for the night? What was his problem with her dress anyways? All she could see was him trying to make a mountain out of an anthill.  "It's not enough for me." He replied as candid as possible.  "Are you trying to insult my sense of fashion? If you have a problem with my dress then deal with it. That's your problem not mine." She snapped, her chest rising and falling, her arms akimbo.  "Pardon me if I sound prude but I have no problem with your dress. No. On the contrary, i want

Mission impossible
Jan.22.2021 Lyra. Lyra sat silently at the dining table eating her bowl of cereal, she kept a separate bowl for marcel who she could hear approaching from his room. For a vampire, he'd seemed to enjoy staying awake during the daytime rather than at night. "Good morning love." Marcellus whistled as he sat across Lyra, dragging the bowl of cereal to himself. "Good morning Mr Marcel." "I told you not to call me that." Lyra chuckled but upon remembering what she'd had in mind to ask him, she spoke again,"what does a pureblood and half blood mean?" "Why would you want to know that?" He asked with a frown plastered on his face. "Leon said something about that and I'm curious to know. Please? Pretty please?" She pleaded with puppy dog eyes, pouting and batting her eyelashes.

Heart palpitations
The next day he'd called her to talk about the next gala they'd been invited to attend. This time, rather than sit mute and do nothing she had a part to play, a very big one at that. Mr Henri Knight had been nice enough to send them crucial informations about who the investor was and how they could catch his attention. Marcellus looked disinterested by her mere presence, his mood had went from fun to moody since the other night when he'd found out she'd never been intimate with a man. All night she'd pondered hard on why he'd suddenly walked away and left her wanting more after the somewhat embarassing revelation. They had been no other form of talking between them after he called her down, the rest was shuffling of documents and a morbid glare. When she stood to leave, she heard him speak. "You've never had sex with a man and  you're like what—thirty something? What have you been doing instead of fucking?" Lyra could he

Jan. 24.2021 Marcellus "Lyra." That same voice that had tormented her dreams spoke again, and as usual, all she could see was a dark silhouette. The invincible barrier between them had been the only thing stopping her from unveiling her tormentor. "Who are you?! What do you want from me?! How do you know my name?!" Lyra shouted from the other side, the darkness had almost shrouded the little bit of light that casted the shadow of whatever it was that beckoned to her. "Hurry Lyra! Break the curse and unite us!" "What curse?!" "Break the curse and unite us!" The ominous voice continued to repeat the words and they got louder, the menacing sound loomed everywhere, forcing her to cower at the fright it caused her, slowly, the thin line between her and the darkness vani

Jan. 25.2021 Marcellus A loud scream erupted from her lips, her body trembled and black veins spread through her skin, tainting her flesh. "Lyra!" A voice called out and her eyes snapped open, when they did her eyes turned obsidian, the black swallowing any hint of white. Just as fast as the black appeared it disappeared. Lyra panted when she finally regained consciousness her chest heaved she panted, tears rolling down her eyes. When she finally got a grip on her consciousness she hurriedly sat up, leaned against the headboard and curled herself up as she shivered. Reaching for her phone on the table, she pressed speed dial and after a few rings a female voice spoke from the other end. "Lyra! I was just about to call you." The female chortled excited. "Kat, something.. Something
